Pair of Bespoke Walnut Wardrobes - By Brown & Harman
Exceptional Walnut Wardrobes crafted to a high standard.
This fine pair of wardrobes were commissioned in 2003 for a guest suite within a notable London address. The brief was to produce a pair of fine free-standing wardrobes as the location was 'listed' and therefore a built-in bespoke solution was not an option. The craftsman engaged for the project was the highly respected cabinet makers Brown and Harman of East Sussex (google 'Brown and Harman' for more information regarding Simon Brown and Steven Harman).
The original cost for the pair was £36,000 and we are pleased to be able to offer them at 50% of that price. For interested parties the original receipt will be made available.
The wardrobes are in fine order throughout and have seen almost no use.
The two are identically sized yet have very slightly varying interior layouts. A 'His & Hers' concept was applied with one piece having the upper main centre section dedicated to hanging space, and the other of the pair having this area fitted with shelving and slide-out glass fronted drawers.
Wardrobe 1
Left Wing - Upper cubby. Illuminated hanging space with twin adjustable/removable rails. Lower slide out drawer.
Centre Upper - Long upper cubby space. Twin lit hanging space.
Centre Lower - Six slide out drawers.
Right Wing - Upper cubby. Illuminated hanging space with twin adjustable/removable rails. Lower slide out drawer.
Wardrobe 2
Left Wing - Upper cubby. Illuminated hanging space with twin adjustable/removable rails. Lower slide out drawer.
Centre Upper - Trio of full width shelves. Eight slide out drawers.
Centre Lower - Six slide out drawers.
Right Wing - Upper cubby. Illuminated hanging space with twin adjustable/removable rails. Lower slide out drawer.
The walnut veneering used throughout is of high order and the resultant antique furniture looks fantastic.
Each of the main compartments benefits from automatic interior lighting.
Hanging rails to the side wings are adjustable height.
Each slide out drawer is mounted on a quality steel bearing supported runner to allow smooth opening/closing and provide the capability for the drawers to be pulled fully out for ease of access to the content.
Overall a spendid pair of wardrobes that represents terrific value and a fine build quality that simply is not available outside of bespoke commission.
