A superb pair of Japanese Meiji period stoneware vases. These lozenge shaped vases are beautifully enameled with flying cranes on a striking background of red and blue swirls. The condition is excellent.

The unusual shape, the ornithological interest and wonderful colour combination make these a very special pair of 19th century vases.
