Chip or notch carved wood formed in layers, made from what was to hand ie crates, cigar boxes...
Popular from the late 19th century to around 1940,begun in the United States , the idea spread to many parts of the world.
These are probably English in origin, circa late 19th century, having had a picture print first. Replaced old glass in one frame with aged marks to the silvering and the other contains contemporary glass.
Size 19" by 16" , depth 1 1/8", The mirrored section has size 11" by 8".
We welcome visits to our 3000 sq ft warehouse in Norwich (postcode NR18 9PX), but please ask first as this is by appointment only. If travelling by train , we can meet you at Norwich Station or more locally, Wymondham Station.
