Pair of Venetian Blackamoor Torchere, Wine Tables
A Pair of Venetian Blackamoor Torchere or Wine Tables
Both these Charming Little Nubian Vine Nymphs carry grapes and fruit in their hands and have a table on top.
They have no feet only winding leafy stems twisted in with the three footed support of the table forming the roots and leaves of the vines
The quality of the carving is very fine indeed, even the bunches of grapes they hold are articulated. The Blackamoors have been carved from wood which has been polished to give it different colour tones, still keeping the lovely patina and grain of the wood showing through, these pieces are not painted
A Superb pair in good condition for their age, with one split repaired on one of the tray tops
The Blackamoors are 37” tall, 17” across at the floor and the tray tops are 14’x12”
