Pair of Victorian Balloon-Back Occasional Chairs
This lovely pair of antique chairs date from the second half of the nineteenth century. They have what we believe to be mahogany frames with balloon-backs with decorative carving to the tops and sides. The chairs have shaped fronts, over-upholstered sprung seats and are supported on turned front legs and swept back legs. The upholstery is later and is worn.
Condition: Overall this handsome pair of chairs are in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and they are overall a little faded. They are usuable but there is some movement in the joints, more so to one of the chairs than the other. The upholstery is dated and worn and a little grubby.
