Pair of Victorian Marquetry Inlaid Pier Cabinets
An attractive pair of Victorian walnut and marquetry inlaid display cabinets or bookcases. Each cabinet has a rectangular shaped top above the cushion moulded and marquetry inlaid frieze with ormolu beading. The stiles have very good ormolu mounts and conforming marquetry, the glazed doors with shaped insides with king wood cross banding and further inlay, ormolu beading and escutcheons. The cabinets stand on plinth bases with shaped fronts. These superb cabinets are a true pair, one left handed and one right handed and have working locks and keys and date from 1880. Colour and condition very good. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £90. Dimensions:- Height…41.75/ 106cm. Width…31.75’’/ 80.5cm. Depth…12.5’’/ 31.5cm.
