Pair of walnut Marble French bedside cabinets
These are very good French bedside cabinets. They are nineteenth century dating to around 1880 or so and are made in a wood similar to walnut. The bedsides have pink marble tops. As you can see they are not exactly a pair but were undoubtedly made by the same makers and have more that is similar than dissimilar about them. You would not be aware they weren't identical when they were either side of a bed.
These bedsides are particularly elegant with the chevron cut inlays to the sides and drawer fronts, the applied shaped beeding and the elegance of the fine cabriole legs with carved knurled feet to one and shaped feet to the other. The cupboards are lined with marble. There is a lot of quality in these bedsides.
The bedsides are in good condition. Good colour. No worm. Piece of beeding off the apron on one bedside, a crack in the marble on the other. See photo. Not obvious because the marble is so busy.
The bedsides are each 33 inches high and 14.5 inches wide and 14.5 inches deep.
