These are a pair of large handsome bedside cabinets. They are made in mahogany and date to the reign of William IV around 1830. Undoubtedly the bedsides started out as the pillars of a sideboard or the like and have been converted at some time. The conversion is good. They work well as bedsides. The doors are wonderfully shaped. Look at the carved detailing and the curved panel on the door. The bedsides stand on a plinth base. The front is made in flame mahogany. Inside, the bedsides are shelved and have slides.

One side of the bedside, the side that would be against your bed, has a shaped panel - see photo. This is where originally it would have been joined to the cupboard of the sideboard.

The bedsides are in good antique condition. Veneer missing at a point on door - see photo. Marks to top as you would expect.

I love these bedside cabinets. They are bold and imposing and very opulent looking. They will look good in a bedroom furnished in antiques.

Each bedside is 19.5 inches deep and 28.5 high and 18.5 wide.
