Period French Provincial Armoire / Hall Robe
'Wonderful, charming and authentic. A statement piece that is both versatile and timeless.'
This armoire is of a smaller design and construction, it also holds a stunning patina carrying with it very small traces of a time perhaps over a century ago, when it was painted with a typical 'red ocre' pigmented paint. It is of a pegged design and construction, allowing the armoire to dismantle into several smaller pieces so can be easily placed in any room of the home.
Period c Late 18th century - Sourced from France.
Solid frame and construction with a quality chestnut wood.
Removable Cornice (please see images)
2 Doors with fixed escutcheons.
Includes 1 key and working lock.(Lock replaced recently)
Internally there is 3 shelves which are removable.
Overall this armoire is in stunning condition for its age. It has some age related marks / imperfections in the wood due to age which are to be expected and only aid in creating a fantastic patina authenticating the piece. It has been cared for and maintained exceptionally well over the years which has allowed it to stay in such wonderful condition.
As with most antique wardrobes of this age, wood type and origin it has signs of OLD wood worm and so we have carried out several applications of treatment as a precautionary measure
Size Approx: 179cm h x 132cm w x 56cm d

We believe this only adds to both the beauty and character, creating an individual yet authentic piece that cannot be replicated.
This is not a new item and therefore it should be expected to contain some subtle knocks in the wood, signs of age and use (or patina).
