Fabulous colour in this great-looking and super quality antique necklace. Tourmaline is an October birthstone.

A late 19th century, French, pink tourmaline, twin-drop necklace. At the end of the fine twin chain, a round cut tourmaline is suspended from solid bars (4mm) from which a larger pear-cut tourmaline (8x4 mm) is itself hung from a solid bar. (8x4mm) each suspened from solid bars on an integral chain in 14 carat gold, with a simple bar and loop clasp. The clasp carries the remnants of French gold control marks, but has been independently tested to at least 14 carat gold. It is in the classically simple French Empire-revival style, popular towards the end of the 19th century.

To the round-cut tourmaline 40cm long (2x20cm), then further drop to end of pear-cut 35mm).
