Pretty Oil Portrait Of A Young Girl By Petrocelli
A charming portrait in oils of a young girl by listed Italian artist Achille Petrocelli.
The painting captures the innocence of this young Italian girl with her mass of light brown curls and brown eyes. She is wearing a shawl with pearl earings and a simple gold necklace. Signed by the artist.
Achille Petrocelli (1861-1929) first studied under his painter father Vincenzo. He went on to be a prize winner at the Institute of Fine Arts of Naples, where he was mentored by Gabriele Smargiassi and Achille Carrillo. He painted both landscapes and portraits including many local Neapolitan figures painted from life. Past results from sales of his paintings can be found on the usual online art databases.
