Pretty Victorian mahogany Ladys writing table desk
This is a top quality Victorian Lady's writing table. The table is late Victorian, dating to around 1880. You would be pushed to find a more elegant writing table. The table has a drawer one side and a faux drawer on the other so this desk doesn't have to be pushed with its back against a wall. It is finished both sides so can be brought out in to a room with a chair behind it if you wish.
The table stands on beautifully turned legs terminating in original pot casters. It has shaped spandrels to each corner. It has its original rexine top and at the back of the desk is a raised stationary box with letter rack and pen rest etc.
This is a pretty piece. The condition is good. Joints solid. No sign of worm or damage. Marks from usage as you would expect. The mahogany ios a rich polished colour. One 'cut' to the rexine at the back - see photo.
This is a very pretty and feminine desk for a principal room. It is small and neat and will look good with a lamp on top.
The desk is 29 inches high and 36 inches wide and 20.5 inches deep.

If you require a courier to deliver, do not despair as it is a lot easier to arrange than you would imagine and probably a lot cheaper as well. Most couriers cover most parts of the country on a three week cycle. Once you have booked with them they will get in touch with me directly for collection so you only need concern yourself with the delivery date to you.
