Primitive early Welsh Yew Wood Love Spoon
A rare and most interesting early Welsh love spoon in yew wood. Of primitive design, the nature of yew wood being particularly hard to carve, and displaying simple carved motifs as only found in Welsh love spoons.
A heart above a diamond and further up the stem a cross between two parallel lines as found in Welsh cawl spoons from Ceredigion.
In superb condition with just a small historic chip to the edge of the bowl to mention.
A rare and culturally important piece of Welsh treen with the most wonderful colour and tactile surface.
Length 12" = 30cm
