Alex De Andreis was a French painter of the late 19th and early 20th century.
Andrei's subjects were mostly genre pieces set in the 17th and 18th century costumes similar to those of Stephen Lewin.
His broad confident technique of painting,captures beautifully the play of light upon his images,an interpretation that is entirely original.
Both the colour and atmosphere of his canvases come alive,giving his figures a natural environment in which to cast their spell.
Whether tavern interiors,figures playing chess or caverliers admiring a nes acquisition,Alex De Andreis fires the imagination with his images of bygone age and presents us with highly decorative images which in today's market,as in the artist's day,are very collectable.
We are pleased to offer for sale a very detailed example of one of his works in print form under glass dating from the late 19th century in a later frame.
All in good clean condition and ready to hang.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt if the item is found to have been misdescribed and the purchaser may be liable for the return costs subject to reasons for return.
