Quality 19th Century marquetry linen press
Antique fine quality mid-19th Century marquetry mahogany linen press wardrobe by arguably one of the best London makers 'Edwards and Roberts'.
Solid and strong, with no loose joints. Full of age, character and charm. Magnificent marquetry to the door fronts and cornice. Also attractive crossbanding and line inlays. A very expensive piece when made.
Would look great in the right location! We have a key to the top door only. The oak lined drawers and press slides move freely.
Overall maximum dimensions: 133cmW x 59cmD x 225cmH. This piece separates into 3 parts for transport (85cmH base, 108cm top plus cornice).
In very good antique condition with minor historic knocks, marks, wear and imperfections as you would expect, nothing bad... all typical of a good antique piece of antique furniture. Just a few historic extinct woodworm holes that have been treated for good measure.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be manoeuvred into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide a strong able-bodied person(s) for our driver to assist with carrying.
