Fine quality 19th century heavy cast iron Medici lion on plinth circa 1830.
Great country house item for use as a door stop or table top decorative piece. Well modelled figure with gilt highlights, his front paw resting on a sphere and tail wrapped around his hind leg.
It measures 23.5 cm long x 16.5 cm high. The base is a solid iron block, hence the hefty weight of 6.6 kg.
In good antique condition with wear commensurate with age and handling. Currently shipping to UK and USA.
