Quality Victorian London Admiral Fitzroy Barometer
A Top Quality Mid Victorian walnut cased Admiral Fitzroy 'Royal Polytechnic' barometer.c.1885.Silvered engraved scale with double vernier marker for yesterday and today. Rare copper record readings below. Original charts and silvered scale thermometers to the glazed front. Mercury action visible tube. Made by Joseph Davis of Kennington Road, London(w.1871-93). The sole maker of Polytechnic barometers,with Royal Coats of Arms and Prince of Wales feathers to each.
Carved pediment to the top. Superb patina to the case. Fully overhauled. Measures 10" x 3" x 41"high.
