A very nice Antique, Swiss made for Thomas Russell & Son of Liverpool, Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch dating from c1890.
The dial is in very good condition, with the hours in Roman numerals and a sub seconds dial. It is signed "Quarter Repeater by Thos. Russell & Son, Liverpool".
The gold plated case was made by the Illinois Watch case company.
The Swiss made Quarter Repeater movement is in good condition. It is stem wound and lever set the time being set by turning the winding crown after pulling out the lever located at four o'clock.
The repeater mechanism is activated by sliding the lever on the case side band, the hammer strikes on the gong for every hour followed by a double strike for every quarter.
The watch measures 56mm in diameter (across the case).
