Rare 18thC Painted Faux Chest
A rare and pretty 18thC pine chest of desirable small proportions. This decorative piece is a rare survivor retaining all of it's original painted finish, simulating a fine mahogany chest of drawers of the period it was most probably made for the servants quarters of a large house and would have been used to store their personal possessions and clothing.
Condition is exceptional with just a small chip to the RH beading of the lid and a repair to the rear LH bracket foot. All metalwork is original and in superb order.
Edging into the folk art bracket this chest is most interesting and decorative as well as being a superb storage piece.
Height 27" = 69cm Width 32" = 82cm Depth 17.5" = 45cm
