Rare 18thC Welsh Oak Potboard Dairy Dresser

A super rare and very sweet little Welsh Oak Cardiganshire Pot-board Dairy Dresser c1780.
At just 3ft 7” wide this is a very special little dresser indeed. Of highly sought after traditional West Wales design renown for their simple beauty created by perfect proportions, quality timber and unique understated look. Dairy dressers are particularly rare, their design originating from the traditional dairy regions of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. A feature of these beautiful dressers is their high waisted design which allows the Potboard to house the churns and tall crocks used for cream, buttermilk and cheese making. This is without doubt one of the prettiest examples we have ever seen.
Purchased from a beautiful period house in Aberaeron from the decedents of the very first owners and having been professionally restored several years ago to a very high standard the condition is superb and the colour and grain are breathtaking.
With perfect form and standing at full original height, is superbly solid and sturdy and stands level and true.
The smallest dresser we have had in years and a true natural beauty.
Length 3ft 5” = 104cm. Height 6ft 7” = 200cm. Base Height 3ft 4” = 101cm. Base Depth 19.5” = 45cm.
This lovely dresser comes in two parts for easy transportation.
Delivery available, price dependant on location or collection from our Antiques Shop is always welcomed.
Please feel free to ask any questions and we will be happy to help.
