Rare 1930's Butterfly Wing Silver Brooch Pin

Adorable! - This is a fabulous Art Deco example of the wonderful butterfly antique jewellery often attributed to Thomas L. Mott of England - this is a gorgeous piece a beautiful wing fabulously set to a solid silver oval shaped pendant marked as Sterling and bearing the Shipton Patents (see pics) - measuring c. 1.5" inch long (3.9cm) on the oval. Depicting an unusual, and so beautifully designed, pair of Crinoline Ladies in their bonnets reverse painted to the clear glass oval cover. - a delicate fine example - nice, bright vibrant colours to the wing, this is an adorable piece and it will delight the most discerning of collectors. A nice low start and no reserve!.
Thomas Mott (TLM) exhibited his beautiful reversepainted butterfly wing jewellery at the British Empire Exhibition of 1924. His company was the largest producer of butterfly wing jewelry in the 1920"s/1930"s.
