Rare Chinaman Pattern Swansea Spill Vase c1816

We have the pleasure of being able to offer a very rare Swansea Chinaman pattern spill vase.
This duck egg porcelain trumpet shaped spill vase is of an unusual but documented Swansea form and is quite uniquely decorated in polychrome enamels with a dancing Chinaman against a backdrop of an exotic island, all on a white ground further decorated with gilt seaweed tendrils. This is a previously unknown Swansea pattern and was probably locally decorated possibly by Billingsley himself, it is most likely unique. The vase is illustrated in "Swansea and Nantgarw Porcelains: A Scientific Reappraisal" by Howell G. M. Edwards, Springer 2017, pp 176-177.
The vase is approximately 4 inches (10.2cm) high and 3.5 inches (8.9cm) inches wide at it's widest point. The vase is in a very good condition with no chips cracks or repairs, although there is some very slight wear to the gilt.
