For sale today we have this superb Moonflask vase by Frank A Butler for Doulton Lambeth. A shape that I have never seen before the vase is of twin handled, flattened ovoid form and features different designs to each side. Both are sharply incised foliate forms with one side featuring stylised flowers on slender stems, while the other is of larger leaves, each side is enhanced by the addition of a large applied rosette to the centre- further to this the vases sides have a kind of intertwining vine design.

Measures 20 cm tall. Stamped Doulton Lambeth mark to the base along with incised FAB 761 for Butler and assistants as shown. Dated 1879.

Superb condition being free from any damage or repair.
