This is a really good example of an armorial panel with coat of arms hand painted in colour on wood. The arms Argent a Chevron Azure between three wolves heads with shield in gilt and rouge foliate design. An armoured helmet centres the shield with a Falcon displayed in the crest. The ribboned motto VIVE UT VIVAS was used by the Abecrombie Family.
The panel has its original brass hanging ring and measures 19 cm by 16 cm.
This dates from the early 19th century, circa 1800.
