Rare Georgian Antique Housekeepers Cupboard
Fantastic Rare Georgian Antique Housekeepers Cupboard.
This is a wonderful piece of English Georgian antique painted pine antique furniture, originally made for a country house in Ripon, North Yorkshire around 1780.
A very unusual design with canted comers/wings and standing on large bracket feet.
This antique housekeepers cupboard was used in the kitchens of the bake house, it is almost certainly an absolute one off piece.
The cupboard was made specifically to stand between two doors against a wall, this explains why the sides are angled, this allows tyhe flow of traffic in a busy environment to move through the doors and pass the cupboard.
In solid yellow pine and in the original Georgian antique paint finish, a rich cream.
The top section has four doors, each door having fielded square panels, the base has six drawers in the centre with a pair of cupboard doors flanking the flight.
Inside the cupboards and drawers are clean, finished with old paint and each door is complete with the original large, Blacksmith made iron H hinges.
In extremely good, solid condition with lots of the Georgian paint retained.
