Oh boy! This is a gorgeous vintage 1920's Powder Compact, made of celluloid or bakelite or similar hard polished early plastic - it is large, flap-jack piece measuring 4.1/4"inch and depicting a lovely dog, which I am reliably advised is a Borzoi - a russian wolfhound, to the top. The op is edged in chrome, all clasps and hinges are in good order, opening to reveal original ivorine puff and mesh - the mirror has some slight silver crazing and cloudiness commensurate with age, but in my view does not detract - an unusual piece that will not disappoint!.
