Rare London Longcase Clock by Barraud of Cornhill

A small and rare mahogany longcase clock by this famous Clockmaking family.
The high quality 8 day duration 5 pillar movement with shaped plates and striking the hours on a bell. The pendulum with a large brass bob, engraved regulation nut and a wooden rod. The 12" plain painted arched dial features strike/silent to the arch, seconds, Roman numerals and the makers name and place of work to the centre of the dial, Barrauds, Cornhill, London. Also with typical high quality solid brass hands, which were so often used by the Barrauds family.
The elegant and small cabinetwork features high quality flame mahogany veneer to both the trunk door and base. The latter with a raised rectangular panel and a plain double plinth standing on two mahogany pads. The trunk features canted corners and a lancet shaped long trunk door.
