Rare Presentation Album to Sir Fortescue Flannery

Original Antique Presentation Album Presented to Sir Fortescue Flannery, 1st Baronet On behalf of the Unionists of Cardiff, Cowbridge & Llantrisant
Dated 1906
An original leather bound album presented to Sir Fortescue Flannery, 1851 - 1943, engineer & naval architect, liberal unionist & later conservative politician, Flannery was also part of the British inquiry into the sinking of the Titanic 1912,
Album is bound in a full leather binding with gilt decorated spine & front board, bevelled edges to boards, silk endpapers, six full page hand decorated vellum sheets with floral decorations & several photographic inserts of the Cardiff area plus important figures of the day such as the marquess of Bute, A. J. Balfour, J. Chamberlain & others, two sheets to rear with several hand written signatures including Mackintosh of Mackintosh [Clan Chief]
Album measures approx 15 x 13 inches
Some rubbing, scuffs & small areas of peeling to leather cover, majority of the card mounts have some foxing, occasional minor split to inner card mounts with all sheets well attached, very odd spots of foxing to margins of vellum sheets
Overall in very good condition
A scarce & unique item relating to cardiff with fine decorations within & bound in an attractive leather binding
