Rare Welsh Sycamore Cheese Top Dairy Stool c1850

An exceptional example of a mid 19th century Welsh pole lathe turned dairy stool of superb traditional form. With beautiful pale colour, desirable large size and pleasant proportions. Featuring a stunning 3" thick dished single slab sycamore top supported on three traditionally turned ash legs. The top having the most incredible form with rare integral bowl turned to the underside. A superb example of Welsh country antique furniture in exceptional original condition, easily the best example of a scrubbed Welsh dairy stool we have seen in years. This example being far rarer than most originating from the Gower peninsula and being stamped E W - a feature we have not seen before on stools of this type.
Some historic worm holes - fully treated and finished with traditional beeswax polish.
It measures 27cm high with a diameter of 32cm
