Reformed Gothic Oak Writing Table

Interesting freestanding Victorian pale oak writing table with reformed Gothic influence.
The rectangular top inset with well worn but original gilt and tooled writing leather over two mahogany lined short frieze drawers with original Clarke and Timmins brass and steel locks and Gothic brass drop handles.( One drawer is number stamped and the overall quality suggests a good cabinet maker but it is not name stamped....so the maker is unknown.)All raised on turned and tapering legs with scallop edged shoulders , inset with small roundels and ending with the original brass cups and brown ceramic castors.
Untouched , unrestored in original countryhouse condition with shadings and minor dings and dents making a pleasing patina of age and usage . Please note the original writing leather shows signs of wear and has minor damage, please see images. This again reflects its history of usage .
ENGLISH Circa 1870-1890
