Regency Mahogany Bracket clock - Tyas , London
This is a fine English bracket antique clock dating from the Regency period made by William Tyas , 36 Barbican , London who is recorded as working from 1820-32 .
The case uses well chosen mahogany and has a stepped chamfer top surmounted by a gilded pineapple finial.
The 7 3/4 inch painted dial is signed by the maker and the original pierced brass hands are present together with a well cast bezel. The canted front corners are inlaid with brass .
Surrounding the dial are inset brass bound quadrants . At the bottom there is brass inlay which is quite unusual on this style of clock The sides retain their original pierced sound fretts and carrying handles . Ball feet are mounted on all corners.
The glazed rear door gives access to the substantial 8 day duration bell striking double fusee movement which has been professionally restored and in perfect working order. Please note the decoratively engraved bob
The clock is 19 1/2 inches tall . The width is 11 inches and the depth 6.
This clock is fully restored and in outstanding condition with an excellent colour .
Like all antiques there are the odd age related marks as can be expected on any item of this age but I am certain that the most discerning client will not be disappointed.
This is a genuine and original clock and I offer a full money back guarantee to this end.
Any potential clients are very welcome to view the clock prior to purchase (or pay on delivery)to ensure that they are satisfied with their purchase.
This clock is much nicer in the flesh and looks superb .
