Regency Inlaid Bow-Fronted Four Drawer Chest
This attractive chest of drawers dates from approx. 1820. It is in need of some tidying and restoration work. The chest has lovely mahogany veneers with satinwood inlays. It is bow-fronted and consists of four graduated drawers. All the drawers retain their locks, but please note that no key is present. The drawers retain what we believe to be their original brass handles. The chest is supported on swept bracket feet at the front with a shaped lower apron at the front and sides.
Condition Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition, but does have some wear consistent with age and use and would benefit from some restoration work. There is some scuffing, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and the piece is overall faded. There are some areas of wood loss, and some cracking, chipping and loss to the veneers and inlay. There is some staining and scratching to the top. There are some areas of old restoration, including a small repaired section to the top. There is some wood shrinkage cracking to the sides.
