A handsome antique Regency mahogany open armchair dating from circa 1820. The reeded oblong top-rail above a carved crossbar with reeded and turned arm supports. With a newly recovered drop-in seat it stands on turned front legs and has sabre back legs to the back. It has been newly recovered in a grey chenille type fabric. Good colour and patina. A beautiful statement piece that would make a handsome desk chair.

Solid and sturdy with wear and marks commensurate with age. Newly recovered. Some well executed old repairs to the arms.
