Regency Over Mantle Mirror

Exquisite Regency gilt over mantle mirror in the Style of the Brothers Adam. The frame holds three bevelled mirrors flanked with reeded columns topped by Acanthus leaf carving. The overhanging cornice decorated with gilt wood balls above a frieze having fantastic swag garlands and Vases. A really beautiful mirror and in super condition would look amazing as a mantle mirror but also above a console table, chest sideboard or a fantastic mirror for a hall to make a real feature of it.
The Adam style (or Adamesque and "Style of the Brothers Adam") is an 18th-century neoclassical style of interior design and architecture, as practised by Scottish Architect William Adam, and his sons, particularly Robert Adam (1728–1792), James Adam (1732–1794), of whom Robert and James were the most widely known.
