This Handsome Davenport Stands Upon Turned Feet.
Having an Arrangement of 4 Oak Lined Graduated Drawers Which Retain Their Original Knobs.
The Interior Featuring 2 Working Drawers and 2 Faux Drawers.
The Left Hand Faux Drawer Having a Pullout Knob Which in Turn Releases the Pen Tray.
The Top of The Davenport Slides so One Can Sit at the Leather Top Writing Surface.
The Davenport desk is named after Captain Davenport, who is said to have commissioned the first of these desks from the famous English furniture maker Gillows of Lancaster in the late 18th century.
