Regency Rosewood Tapestry Pole Screen

This superb pole screen dates from around the 1820s. It has what we believe to be a predominately rosewood frame with possibly some mahogany / walnut parts. It is a nice delicate piece with decorative carved tripod base, an adjustable screen with barley twist supports and finial decorations. The frame has an attractive tapestry inside featuring a bird and flowers - this certainly has some considerable age but we are not sure whether it is original to the screen.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some areas of minor wood loss, including the roundels to the side of the barley-twist supports. The adjustment bolt on the back of the screen is a more modern replacement. The tapestry is in good condition but does have some fading and foxing (brown spotting).
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 146cm high, 35.5cm wide (screen). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
