An English Georgian twin fusee bracket antique clock. A smaller, well proportioned arched top mahogany case with a brass carrying handle. Brass capped side columns. Brass sound fretted side panels with silk backing. Ogee brass bracket feet. Brass edged, glass opening front door. An arched glass back door. A quality arched silvered dial with blued steel hands signed 'R D WEBSTER CORNHILL LONDON'. A well engraved dial with fine detailing. A quality double fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell of 8-day duration. A nice quality pendulum adjustment. Circa 1805.
Richard Webster of London is recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers & Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1787-1808. The Webster family of clockmakers in London are noted makers.
