Rockingham Rose Decorated Cup & Saucer c1831-42

For sale we have a very attractive teacup and saucer by the fine Georgian Yorkshire porcelain maker Rockingham.
This typically ornate rococo Rockingham cup and saucer is richly decorated in periwinkle blue and gilt on a white ground with central roses and wild flowers. The base of the saucer carries the Rockingham puce mark dating the piece to the 1831-42 Rockingham period.
The Saucer is 6 inches (15cm) in diameter and the coffee cup is 3 inches (7.6cm) high to handle spur. The cup and saucer is in a very good to excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, however there is some loss of gilt to the rim of the saucer.
