This is a Victorian Scottish Highland Dirk Brooch made in rose gold which acid tests as 9ct gold. The brooch is set with three facetted Cairngorm stones in the form of three thistle heads with a background of bloodstone, cornelian and layered agate all held by hand engraved settings. This style of brooch was produced around 1880 – 1900.
