Rosewood and Gold Velour Stool

Circa 1820s, rosewood square X framed stool. Recently re-upholstered in a gold velour finishing with braiding above a simple moulding that continues around all sides. Standing on a curved X frame, with a curved roundel or button to the centre of each end, supporting the turned and tapering stretcher. The whole stool is on a beech frame.
