Rosewood and Mother of Pearl Jewellery Box c.1830

This is a top quality box of it's type, better than most with exquisite and very fine Mother of Pearl inlay including the sides which is always a sign of quality even the four bun feet are inlaid with circles of Nacre shell.
This started it's life nearly 200 years ago as a large tea caddy and was later turned into a antique jewellery box (probably around 1900 judging by the wooden tray that was made to slide in, the interior has been newly lined in an Italian hand-marbelled paper creating a fresh and clean interior ready to use.
The box comes complete with a working key and certainly is an most impressive piece. The footprint measuring 14" x 7 1/2" x 9" tall.
