In General

A charming and elegant late Regency or William IV rosewood circular chess or games table c.1835. The circular top is inlaid with a rosewood and satinwood chessboard and it stands on an octagonal tapering pillar with a tripartite base raised on three turned bun feet. An old antique piece with a warm golden patina that works well in both modern and period interiors.

Condition

In excellent antique condition commensurate with its age and use. There is a small piece of rosewood missing from the side edge of the table top and on the end of one of the legs of the tripartite base. An old scratch is visible on the table top although it does not take away from the beautifully made chessboard. There is also a small area of missing wood on the underside of the tripartite base. Please see photographs.
