A scarce 'unidentified pattern' Royal Crown Derby Muffin Dish & Cover with date mark for 1891.

This seems to be a rather rare pattern which apparently falls under the general category of 'Unidentified Patterns'. Apparently it was not unusual for Royal Crown Derby to issue items with patterns which never went into high volume production.

The previous owner had spend considerable time trying to research this particular pattern without success, but had heard of one similar in the V&A in London. (If anyone can identify the pattern we would love to hear from you!)

Condition is excellent considering this is 122 years old. There is one small chip on the plate (see pic 5)

Dish diameter ~ 207mm, Cover diameter ~ 167mm, Height ~ 100mm.
