Russells of Liverpool Twin Fusee Striking Clock


A rarer double fusee English drop dial wall antique clock. An oak case with a brass bezel. A 12" painted dial with blued steel hands signed 'RUSSELLS LTD 18 CHURCH STREET, LIVERPOOL'. A visible pendulum aperture. The original side carvings An 8-day duration twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell. Twin fusee striking wall antique clocks are much less common. Circa 1885.
The Russell family of clockmakers are noted makers as listed in Loomes 'Lancashire Clocks and Clockmakers' book with examples in the Liverpool Museum.
