SALE Victorian Oak Wellington Chest

This is a charming Victorian oak Wellington chest dating to around 1880.
It has a rectangular top above seven drawers of diminishing depth each with two turned wooden knob handles and lined in quarter sawn oak. There is a hinged flap to the right and matching fixed upright to the left, both are headed by an acanthus carved scroll and the whole thing rests on a plinth base.
CONDITION
This is in what is affectionately known as country house condition with veneer losses (some of which is concealed by the flap) and slight lifting to the veneer on the top. The left side is very dry and would benefit from some wax and the scrolls have been pinned on. The joints are all solid, we do not have a key.
