Scottish Footstool Known As A Creepie


Good looking early footstool. The boarded sides indicating that the stool is most likely Scottish and as such referred to as a Creepie.
Early stools of this nature are believed to have originated in The Shetlands.
This stool retains it's typical russet, brown paintwork as was commonly used in the early 1800 period.
The elm top displays a good original patina.
Strong sound condition. Nice display piece.
