Scottish Victorian Walnut Waterfall Open Bookcase

A nice Victorian walnut waterfall bookcase dating to c.1890. With a shaped pediment and dentil cornice the front also shows fluting to the uprights and shelf fronts, and a carved band centred by a presentation plaque to ‘The Rev. George Morris …….. Dalry 8th February 1894’. With two adjustable shelves to the upper section and one adjustable shelf to the base this bookcase will house up to 16ft 8in (5.1m) of books.
In overall good condition with solid joints and a golden colour very similar to oak, it does have some dark marks to both top surfaces (although the top is not so visible from normal standing height). It has a shrinkage line on the lower right side as well as the usual marks and dents that should be expected from age and useage over the years.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos.
The overall dimensions at the largest points are approximately
Width - 44 1/2in (113cm)
Depth - 12 1/4in (31cm)
Height - 62in (157.5cm)
Top shelves - 40 1/8in (102cm) long x 6 3/4in (17cm) deep Base shelves - 40 1/8in (102cm) long x 11in (28cm) deep
This bookcase does not dismantle for moving.

We can arrange to deliver this to most UK mainland destinations for £100. Please appreciate all our items are antique and as such may have minor scratches, marks, knocks, shrinkage splits signs of old woodworm, and minor losses to veneer, which combine with care and years of polishing to create an individual character and patina. We cannot describe each marks separately and therefore suggest you do take the time to request extra photos. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee for UK purchases but cannot refund the return shipping cost.
