An attractive serpentine shaped French writing table , or desk. Made from a good grade of solid walnut with wonderful burr walnut veneers. Now with a warm and rich colour and patina. The front and sides are all serpentine in form. The top is inset with a sumptuous red leather writing surface which is decorated with gilt tooling. There is an arrangement of one long central drawer , flanked by 4 shorter drawers. All drawers are lockable (key supplied) and lined in solid oak. They also each have a very attractive carved escutcheon, a real style feature. This carving continues to the knees and feet. The legs are elegant, elongated cabriole shaped. This desirable and practical writing table is offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home.
