A stylish set of 4 antique late Victorian dining chairs in an Aesthetic Movement style. They have ebonised frames with gilding decoration, stuff-over seats and stand on turned and fluted front legs. The backs have straight top rails with a small lozenge over a pierced splat. They are solid and sturdy and have been newly recovered over the old upholstery in a gold velour fabric. The seats are sprung and are useable but would benefit re-upholstery. Dating from circa 1890.
