Set 4 Victorian mahogany balloon back dining chair
Antique set of 4 Victorian 19C mahogany balloon back dining chairs.
A great rare find, with fantastic proportions and simple styling.
Lovely colour, age, patina and charm.
The chairs are heavy and solid with no loose joints.
The upholstery (appears to be a heavy weight silk) is not new, having a little wear and some faint marks. If required, we could reupholster prior to despatch in a customer's fabric for £40 per chair.
Overall maximum dimensions
46cmW x 53cmD x 89cmH (45cmH seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age. We have not inspected beneath the upholstery. There are some historical structural repairs (as one would expect), but all are strong and good now. Just a few historic woodworm holes, believed extinct, but treated for good measure.
